Recovering Attorney
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on December 29, 2009
You’ve heard of people who are recovering alcoholics or sex or drug addicts? Well, I’m a recovering attorney. What is a recovering attorney, you ask? It’s simple. From childhood, my mother and father drill it into my head that I was going to law school, and that I was going to be a practicing attorney. Unfortunately, I did exactly what I was programmed by my parents to do. You see, the dream of becoming an attorney was my parents dream, not mine. You know what happened? The dream eventually turned into a nightmare. I practiced law for twenty-one years, I had my own office, I employed seven people, and I had the respect of my colleagues, Judges, experts and clients.

Busy Weekend of Work

Last weekend was one of the busiest I’ve had in awhile. I worked Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Money has been tight so I’ve been picking up more hours to be able to make bills. When I wasn’t working, I had a couple friends come over and we made lunch and watched some TV. I also spent some time with my dad. He comes over every Saturday morning for coffee. I had to shorten up our visit this week because I was working so many extra hours, but he didn’t mind. After the long weekend was over, I relaxed in front of the TV Sunday night and watched my favorite show, Big Brother.
When Jake and Elwood Were on a Mission from God

My favorite movie of all times is The Blues Brothers Movie. This movie has it all. In addition to starring Jake and Elwood in their prime, it is loaded with humor, great cameo appearances, terrific music, and car chases. There are so many great scenes in the movie that it’s really hard to pick a favorite, but one that stands out is the scene where Jake and Elmore go to Chez Paul to convince their old friend to rejoin the band. Belushi was at his absolute best terrorizing the diners in the restaurant and, in the process, convincing his maitre d’ buddy to come back for the reunion concert.
